Paris, France. MARCEL CAMPION WINS ANOTHER ROUND IN THE LEGAL WAR AGAINST PARIS MAYOR.
Marcel Campion, owner of the famous giant wheel “Grande Roue de la Concorde”, the Ferris Wheel that has been present for years during the Christmas time in Place de la Concorde, wins another round in his battle against the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo.
For those who have not followed the matter, we summarize here that for more than a year there has been a legal war between the Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo and the showman Marcel Campion. The mayor, spurred on by various cultural associations that claim that the wheel hides the sight of Paris and that degrades the appearance of the buildings of Place de la Concorde, has tried anything to dislodge Campion, who, strong of his contract that guarantees him the place for six years, has no intention of giving in, indeed, continues to assert his reason in court.
The Paris Administrative Court has indeed ruled that the Ferris wheel of Campion does not ruin the view of the Champs-Elysées (the famous avenues of Paris), as the mayor claimed. This right after the administrative court had some time ago canceled another sentence of the mayor to make a pedestrian area near the square, restraining so the passage to vehicles.
It seems that Campion does not want to give up and on the contrary is intended to stick to his rights, winning several rounds. We will keep you informed.
We propose here a library footage of this wheel.
