Previews commence for Europe's first extreme spinning spinning coaster at Plopsaland De Panne

Thrill seekers are finally able to try and test Europe’s first extreme spinning coaster.

The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland, housed at Belgium theme park Plopsaland De Panne, has commenced three weeks of trials, which is set to end July 22.

Daredevils are promised to be in for the treat, as the world’s second extreme spinning coaster. Riders are immersed upside down five times, while reaching top speeds of more than 90 kilometres an hour.

The coaster’s highest point stands at 30 metres, with the sleek vehicles being designed to rotate freely to give guests a unique experience every time they ride.

And it wouldn’t be coaster dedicated to Europe’s flagship festival without booming dance music. To boost the spine-tingling thrills, the coaster has been kitted out with an exclusive soundtrack based on the legendary Tomorrowland Hymn, composed by Hans Zimmer.

A series of world-renowned names have come together to ensure The Ride to Happiness reaches new heights. Leading German rollercoaster manufacturer Mack Rides has led the technical designing, engineering and construction of the overall structure.

Tomorrowland’s very own creative team collaborated with the Plopsa Group to coordinate the theming, design and overall guest experience, with the whole project costing a hefty 17.5 million euros.

The new centrepiece attraction is set separately from the main theme park, teased to become a magnet for visitors from home and abroad.

Commenting on the new ride, Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of the Plopsa Group said: "The coaster can be seen from afar on the motorway and changes the entire skyline of the park, which provides a whole new dimension.

“The fact that we can do this together with Tomorrowland is like a dream come true. Through this collaboration, we will both be able to entertain an even bigger audience, which will only make us stronger.”

The full launch of The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland is slated to take place later Summer 2021.
