THIS POST CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Abstract:
A UK inspector reported to have found a problem on a motor of an Edwin Hall Twist, a very popular ride in UK, manufactured by many UK companies and very similar to Chance's Sizzler. Some of the bolts that hold the motor were sheared and needed to be replaced. The bulletin showes the procedure they did.

The interesting thing here, that we want to underline, is that in these kind of rides the rotating centre need to be completely removed to access and inspect the central pin, bearings and motor. This make this oeration sometimes unwelcome to owners or operator. On the contrary, being the main axle closed and out of sight, we suggest this to be be done once a year to check for fatigue cracks (see our NEWS post "Fatigue Cracking of a main pin - Accident in Brasil" on 14 August 2017).

This is also valid for all kind of components that are not directly visually inspectable.
